Suhail Akbar’s All-Round Brilliance Powers Botingoo Blasters to Commanding Win Over SSGCC Ashtangoo

Botingoo Blasters continued their red-hot form with a dominant all-round performance, crushing SSGCC Ashtangoo by a convincing margin in a one-sided encounter. The Blasters, who opted to bat first, piled on the runs and then backed it up with disciplined bowling and sharp fielding to seal a comprehensive victory.

The star of the show was undoubtedly Suhail Akbar, who delivered a match-winning all-round performance. He smashed a scintillating 85 off just 46 deliveries, laced with 7 boundaries and 5 sixes, at a strike rate nearing 185. His aggressive innings set the tone for the innings, as the Blasters posted a daunting total. He later returned with the ball to scalp 3 wickets for just 5 runs in 1.1 overs, earning him the Player of the Match award.

Umar Hassan continued his fine form with a blistering 54 off 22 balls, striking 5 fours and 5 sixes, while Danish Farooq anchored the innings with a valuable 35 off 31. Together, they ensured the Blasters had momentum throughout.

With the ball, Shahid Wani was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with impressive figures of 4/25 in 4 overs. He consistently troubled the batters and broke crucial partnerships. Shahid Ul Islam also played his part, bowling a miserly spell of 3 overs, 1 maiden, 11 runs, and 1 wicket at an economy of just 3.67.

Fielding was another standout element in Botingoo Blasters’ performance. A number of sharp catches lifted the energy on the field — notably Danish Farooq, who held onto a couple of stunners that turned the tide in key moments.

Despite a brief spark from Umar Farooq of SSGCC Ashtangoo, who took 2 wickets for 38 runs, the Blasters were always in control. Their total proved far out of reach as they dominated the game with both bat and ball.

With this emphatic win, Botingoo Blasters further cement their status as one of the most formidable sides in the tournament, combining explosive batting, lethal bowling, and electric fielding into one well-oiled unit.
